Job Purpose

The Trainee Charter Broker will work closely with the Retail Charter Broker, supporting all day‑to‑day activities and gaining hands‑on exposure to the full charter process. This role is designed as a true shadow position for a period of 2 years: the trainee will assist with client interactions, coordinate with industry stakeholders, and help manage the operational flow of charter enquiries from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Broker support

  • Assist the broker with preparing proposals, contract and any needed documents.

  • Help coordinate actions required before, during, and after charters.

  • Liaise regularly with Captains, central agents, and other industry partners to gather up‑to‑date information on yacht availability, itineraries, and special offers.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with central agents to stay informed on fleet developments and market opportunities.

Learning & Development

  • Observe and participate in client meetings, calls, and negotiations when appropriate.

  • Gain exposure to the commercial, operational, and relational aspects of charter brokerage.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the charter market, yacht types, destinations, and industry standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Basic knowledge of the charter fleet of superyachts.

  • Knowledge of operations onboard charter yachts.

  • Knowledge of luxury lifestyles, services and products.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Pack Office, use of PCs and the Internet environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience at sea, possibly working on charter yachts, would be a plus.

  • And/or experience in high-end products & services (e.g. luxury tourism).

  • And/or experience with UHNWI in service industries (e.g. private banking).

  • Qualifications in sales techniques.

  • Qualifications in the tourism industry.

  • Travel experience, especially to cruising destinations.
